Galvanox Type I

Galvanox Type I is a ready-mixed chlorinated rubber, zinc-rich coating. The use of Galvanox Type I provides a method of applying galvanic protection by standard paint application methods. Galvanox Type I may be described as a cold galvanizing compound, for it prevents corrosion of the steel substrate in the same manner as hot dip galvanizing. When applied to a ferrous surface, the zinc metal in Galvanox Type I acts as the anode and sacrifices itself preferentially to protect the steel which acts as the cathodes.
